Day 1: The Porsche 918 Spyder has always been a huge favorite of mine, so being able to get up close with one during this year's Chicago Auto Show was a dream come true! After shooting the images you see in the poster, I wanted to do something with them... and here we are!
Day 2: a mock magazine cover with a hidden question we should all be asking ourselves! The main model's geode head was a random thought I had pop into my mind, and so I thought it'd be a fun challenge to bring to life!
Day 3: I tried out a cheeky combo of logo and packaging design! I personally LOVE rootbeer, so I had a ton of fun with this one! Super excited with the final result.
Day 3 Contd.
Day 4: album art! I've started to get back into punk/metal/midwest emo recently, so when Spotify slid 'Tonight (demo)' by Amira Elfeky into one of my playlists, it hit *just* the right vibe I was looking for. Give it a listen and let me know what you think!
Day 5: a mock ad for Glossier, Inc. featuring their YOU eau de parfum. Had. the chance to give it a whiff and I can see why it's been so popular recently!
Day 6: a Chicago-themed stamp! I wanted to give myself an extra challenge and only gave myself 2 hours to complete this one.
Day 7: here’s my idea for a new Riddell helmet design, which incorporates the new Dawg logo!
Day 8: a sticker design calling for something I myself need to do: Go Travel!
Day 9: a fun tote bag for Shedd Aquarium!
Day 10: another fun digital art/sticker type design!
Day 11: A fun loyalty card for TE'AMO BOBA & DESSERT. The idea is the drink would get filled in with the color of whatever drink the customer ordered!
Day 12: I decided to channel that into this cheeky mock ad for Lyft, with a fun nod to Ghost Busters and finishing with the tagline "Get Going Faster."
Day 13: Hot Sauce logo and bottle mockup!
Day 14: a tin for Art of Tea that features a pattern that seamlessly wraps around the can, set so opposite corners match. Making a seamless pattern was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the color palette for this one!
Day 15: Out-of-Home work for Lotus Cars USA.
Day 16: a mock logo for a beach bar! With this design, I wanted to capture the feeling of chilling out with an ice-cold cocktail on a hot summer's day!
Day 17: a movie poster for Civil War.
Day 18: more digital art.
Day 19: I created a retro-style ad for PepsiCo, and thought it would be extra fun to create it as if Pepsi positioned themselves as a luxury brand. The photo manipulation it took to compose the can and glass to the image in a way that made it look realistic was a nice added challenge!
Day 20: a new login screen for Unsplash! My idea was to. bring images from Unsplash's featured images page to their login screen, rotating daily. I simplified the page by hiding extra buttons in the hamburger menu, and giving the on-screen elements a more floaty appearance with lower opacity, in order to be prominent, and still showcase the artwork behind it!
Day 21: new title screen for Skyrim, by Bethesda Game Studios. I kept the scrolling fog that is present not only in menus and loading screens but throughout most of the game. As for what's new, I went on to bring a stylized clipping of the game's main antagonist, Alduin to the front page in the foreground, and add a sprawling landscape containing the player to the background. I feel this design does a good job of immediately immersing the player into the world of Skyrim.
Day 22: album art for 'Not Like Us' by Kendrick Lamar
Day 23: Inspirational quote design.
Day 24: geometric digital art!
Day 25: UI/UX design with a scrolling gallery wheel for Valve corporation's Steam App. This provides an engaging and eye-catching way to display many titles in a compact segment, with each title card replacing the main section as the user scrolls through them!
Day 26: Was realizing I need new business cards, so I made some! Designing for yourself is always the hardest, but I’m happy with these… for now.
